Since 1932, Rochester Optical has been driven by a mission to protect and enhance vision. It started with a simple but vital need: creating durable eyewear for military pilots and patrolmen. Through World War II, we became one of the country’s few manufacturers of combat-ready frames, trusted by the U.S. Army and Air Force.
After World War II, we expanded into everyday eyewear, creating popular polarized styles that resonated with the public. In 1990, under new leadership, we grew thoughtfully—adding a full-service optical lab, wholesale solutions, and innovative wearable device technologies, all while proudly remaining an independent, U.S.-based company headquartered in Rochester, NY.
Today, with a dedicated team of over 100, Rochester Optical continues to innovate and lead, partnering with eye care professionals across the East Coast to deliver quality, precision, and personalized service.
